Learn It

Start with the simple version, then practice it with real signs.

Use MM when something is regular, average, fine, comfortable, or not difficult.

The lips are closed and relaxed, almost like a calm mmm feeling.

MM is useful because not everything is huge or tiny. Sometimes the meaning is normal, medium, or comfortable.

Relaxed lipsKeep the lips closed and comfortable.
Normal meaningUse it for average size, normal condition, or easy comfort.
Middle optionMM sits between CHA huge and OO tiny.

Try It

Practice slowly. Make the mouth shape at the same time as the sign.

  1. Sign CHAIR with MM to show a normal chair.
  2. Sign BED COMFORTABLE with MM.
  3. Sign DRIVE EASY with MM to show an uneventful drive.

Deeper Note

A little more grammar

MM often gives a baseline meaning: medium, ordinary, or no big problem. That makes it useful in everyday descriptions.
